Diversity for diversity's sake

Over the years, I've gone being fairly tolerant of diversity to a point where I seek and encourage diversity (for diversity's sake). Diverse opinions lead to greater creativity, and homogeneity leads to stagnation. America is one of the best countries in the world because it encourages and exploits diversity to a point where all the raw power of a rich dialetic has been harnessed in a productive fashion.

I recently visited Thailand and I really appreciated the openness and the tolerance of the people there. I didn't expect to fall for Thailand the way I did, but now that I have, I realise it is partly for the same reasons: the Thai culture encourages diversity. I think this will berewarding in the long run for them.
