Divine Intervention

If you yearn for the days when metal used to be hard and heavy, like older Metallica, Megadeth, and Anthrax, and you think that all these groups have become wussies, then check out Divine Intervention by Slayer. They still deliver it hard, fast, and thrashy. The album inlay shows a bunch of newspaper clippings where people have tried to assign the behaviour of certain violent and aggressive criminals to their musical tastes, i.e., but I find Slayer's music effect on me to be a rather peaceful one. I've never been a big fan of Slayer vocals, but in this album it is tempered and refined. The music as always is doom-filled, greatly complementing the lyrics.
