Martin Taylor

Portraits

Martin Taylor's solo jazz guitar excursion is fairly clean and subtle. Taylor is a gifted musician who has taken the artistry of guitar playing to a new level---for those who think good guitar work has to be full of solos screeching at the speed of light, Taylor proves that it's what you leave out that matters. He breathes a new funky breath in some old favourites and teams up with reputed guitarist Chet Atkins for some memorable tracks. The simplicity of this album is what gives it an overall clean and elegant feel. While Taylor hints at his incredible skill, he never pushes into the realm of showing off. According to Atkins, "Martin Taylore is one of the greatest and most impressive guitar players in the world. I just love his playing. This association has been quite an honor for me."
