This is Latin Ska music and there's a distinct lack of sophistication in King Chango's approach to the Ska side of things. This isn't an insult---the crudeness actually works reasonably well in the Latin context. The songs are fairly catchy, but I found my attention wandering after a couple of listens of this album, suggesting a lack of underlying depth to the music. I figure the band would make for a fun live show.
