Hello Ram! I just wanted to tell you that your blog is a place where I
keep coming back to over the years. Especially the pseudo-intellectual
ramblings. There is some of them that I'll never forget. Same for this
poem by Portia Nelson that you posted, called autobiography in five
chapters.

I felt lost for so many years and your website helped me so much. I
finally feel like I'm healing and I don't think I'd be what I become
without you!

Thank you Ram!

Date: Tue, 26 Dec 2017 01:41:58 +0100 thank you for the energy you have put in joining together the free culture and music. I'm extremely happy of what you guys did since the 90s.
Date: Tue, 4 Oct 2016 11:49:35 -0400 Subject: Wow! I was just trying to find some Primus tabs when I went on your website and I have to admit, wow! You have so many achievements and your site is so well put together. There are so many interesting resources. Thank you for the effort for creating your site, it is very helpful.
Date: Fri, 23 Sep 2016 23:42:57 -0400 (EDT) hi!, I really like your writing so so much! As soon as I detected this site I went on reddit to share some of the love with them. Very interesting topic, appreciate it for putting up.
Date: Tuesday, January 26, 2016 8:41 PM Subject: Why you don't vote I just read your essay "Why You Should not Vote". I just wanted to tell you that with your writing you were able to completely sum up the feelings I have about the American political process and the beast our government has become. I am a 28 year old non-voter. I have voted once since turning the legal age to vote and have realized the futility of the whole situation. Your essay put into words the feeling I have towards politicians and the political process of our republic. I really don't have anything of substance to say here. I just wanted to send you this email to say thank you for posting that essay. It was really a joy to read
Subject: A token of appreciation Date: Fri, 11 Sep 2015 00:55:41 +0400 Dear Professor, I stumbled upon your website while googling " Intellectual orgasms". I read your missive on the same, and the discovery of your website itself is an intellectual orgasm for me. I like your self-deprecating humour and humility. I hope to read more and learn a lot from your site. I just thought I should thank you before I forget and get lost in this www. T.C.

Date: Sat, 29 Aug 2009 19:34:46 -0400 (EDT) wow, you are a major rennaissance man... I would truly dig if the noncopyrighted writings had dates (at least the year), so one could follow developments, as it were. If you have a page on facebook I will totally be your fan. Sincerely, myself
Date: Wed, 10 Dec 2008 17:48:59 -0700 Hi, I read your writing on intellectual orgasms. http://www.ram.org/ramblings/philosophy/intellectual_orgasms.html That was one of the funniest and most enjoyable article I have ever read. Continue on, I enjoyed your writing.

Date: Thu, 14 Sep 2006 03:28:08 +0300 let me first tell you that i really enjoyed your website and the philosophies it entrusts. [...] a few years ago (in 2003) i came across a photo you took of what i know believe may be of the Thar desert. at the time i didn't know much about the photo itself, but i immediately liked it a lot. this photo over the years has greatly influenced me in the music i made as ric veda. in fact, it was that year (2003) that i had great changes in my life, and that i began writing music and playing as ric veda, playing a harmonium while singing gospel influenced folk songs. the warm grainy desert picture fit with the sound that was happening. so 3 years have now gone by, and i am releasing the first full length album for ric veda. when it came time to choose a cover photo, your photo seemed a very fitting choice.
Date: Sun, 3 Sep 2006 09:03:32 -0400 (EDT) I will continue to visit enjoyed the reading thanks.

Date: Wed, 31 May 2006 01:17:05 -0400 (EDT) Maybe one could explain away Jesus with a closed timelike curve in a 'multiverse' or maybe I just spent too much time looking at your web site.
Date: Thu, 4 May 2006 14:17:53 -0400 (EDT) Ram.... Could relate so well to your views on 'relationships and love'. You come across as somebody with loads of energy and attitude.I think it would be wonderful to know a person like you.

Date: Wed, 15 Mar 2006 13:09:46 -0800 (PST) Subject: Thank you. Your site, among other past legal "encounters", inspired me to persue a degree in Intellectual Properties.
Date: Thu, 9 Mar 2006 11:42:46 -0500 (EST) Dude i went through ur music and i was not impressed. Well i have the lyrical talent but lack the musical backing. Lyrics if not matched by a powerful music is nothing more than a poem.

Date: Sun, 19 Feb 2006 20:38:13 -0500 (EST) Even though the pages are rather simplistic, the content and thoughts are excellent. I believe in god, But It was really interesting to read why you ae an Atheist
Date: Tue, 3 Jan 2006 12:49:32 -0800 (PST) Brain candy of the first order.
Date: Thu, 15 Dec 2005 13:11:31 -0800 (PST) Your list is excellent - a good service.

Date: Thu, 24 Nov 2005 12:24:05 -0500 I am impressed with the thoughts you have on the meaning of life and on the reasons god doesn't exist (I am an agnostic with atheist leanings). Thanks for reading, and keep updating your site man it is the coolest.
Date: Wed, 19 Oct 2005 15:21:55 -0400 (EDT) I have to say that your website is quite inspiring in so many different ways. It's almost too incredibly difficult to pinpoint a specific point of interest on your site, as it's all quite interesting.
Date: Wed, 5 Oct 2005 11:32:58 +0800 its good to read a lot of things u write because it brings out all the questions most of us suppress and move along.

Date: Tue, 20 Sep 2005 17:32:18 +0530 Hello, your website is very very impressive. I am sure you would have heard this many times over, but I thought I ought to let you know once more. The area I visit most often is the review section on books and movies.

Date: Sun, 21 Aug 2005 19:46:16 -0400 (EDT) I like your page, especially The Meaning of Life essay.

Date: Tue, 12 Jul 2005 16:33:52 -0400 You have a great site no matter who says what. I haven't seen that many people in academia who are interested in wide variety of things and have zest for life, my kudos.

Date: Sun, 3 Jul 2005 19:54:34 +0200 Thank you for existing. Keep doin' it. For as long as you do.
Date: Sat, 25 Jun 2005 17:48:55 -0400 Speaking of best and worst, your web site is the worst. It's worthless, who wants to listen to the opinions of someone they don't even know, and if you want to waste your time on a website like this, you really should include more information about each place. Your web site is just plain irritating, you really need to work on it.
Date: Sat, 18 Jun 2005 17:04:42 -0700 (PDT) Thanks for the interesting read
Date: Thu, 16 Jun 2005 17:39:49 -0500 The quality and sheer quantity of the writings on your page is quite amazing for an independent site. The simple design of your site is totally refreshing. It seems like more and more people are using "flash" and things like that, which are slower to browse, difficult to navigate, etc...
Date: Wed, 15 Jun 2005 14:47:39 -0400 (EDT) The last time I visited and left a comment was : Date: Sun, 2 Jul 95 22:32:28 Almost 10 years ago! wow. That really makes me feel old! Keep on rockin!! I wonder if you still use emacs? I saw it in your graduation photo !! :) g33ks rule :)
Date: Fri, 27 May 2005 20:41:29 -0400 (EDT) just wanted to let you know, you have too much time on your hands. I read some of your crap. It's not as good as the philosophy class I took at the university of akron.
Date: Sun, 17 Apr 2005 19:02:24 +0200 Great site !!!
Date: Sat, 26 Mar 2005 07:35:26 -0500 (EST) came along from a free music label's website which referenced your free music philosophy. i'm glad to come across a page like yours where you've been keeping it real for all these years. very inspiring.
Date: Thu, 04 Mar 2004 14:01:48 +0000 I visited your website by accident, looking for some ram-blings about a book by Adam Bloom, and found a jewel of creativity and good sense of humour online. Thank you, it made my day brighter. The more things you do the more you're alive, sounds like truism, but Spinoza had it thought through. And indeed, you seem to be a very expressive, and very alive.
Date: Thu, 3 Mar 2005 13:33:30 -0800 Thank you for your wonderful pictures and web site. It is a pleasure and a gift to the world.
Date: Thu, 17 Feb 2005 08:31:38 +0000 (GMT) I like your website - it's simple and informative. What I's amazed is your passion for music! You did interview so many musicians. Really great!

Date: Tue, 9 Nov 2004 20:37:00 EST one word wow
Date: Tue, 2 Nov 2004 09:29:14 -0500 Subject: Why Not To Vote I love this article. It brings to light, points that many do not understand nor want to understand. Being a programmer...I have always believed that zero is a number and that not voting is making a statement. One of the biggest problems with this whole system is the ease with which propaganda is distributed. Thanks for publishing this article.
Date: Sat, 30 Oct 2004 14:00:05 -0700 (PDT) I am a proud American anticipating the opportunity to read your name on your moronic list.

Definitely entertaining, and you have been bookmarked into "interesting people" folder. Maybe we'll meet up for a chat one day...You are not afraid to say whats on your mind, you think as far as the desire to think can take you, and you have an opinion. In my book this spells good stuff. Some of your writing reminded me of Catcher in the the Rye, Salinger.

Date: Thu, 24 Jul 2003 01:02:44 -0700 (PDT) I just finished reading your entire Free Music Philosophy. I really enjoyed it. I really like your philosophical views of the current industry and the benefits of doing it a different way.
Date: Mon, 21 Jul 2003 13:44:15 -0500 I happened upon your web-site just by chance and read some of your lyrics, and thought them rather good. I liked the words to +Renaissance: Art, Philosophy and science . I think you fellows have a real grasp on the human condition--well done.

Date: Fri, 4 Jul 2003 07:34:38 -0700 (PDT) Many words come to mind when I saw your quaint little site... a few consisted of deathtrap, shoddy, disgrace, waste of space, and FUGLY!!!! I have been sending similar emails to people like you who feel it is there responsibility to pollute the already depleting internet and plunging deeper into the hole of doom! Please if you are going to post this site change your keywords to NOT inlcude "cool," "awesome," etc. Try words that really describe it such as crap, a waste of time, of and super gey... Date: Thu, 28 Nov 2002 19:29:26 -0500 Subject: I wasted time on your website... ... what a child you are! I hope you have printed copies of all the stupid things you've written on your +website, because they will embarrass the hell out of you a decade from now... and twenty years from now will +help you understand your own children's rantings. I thank God (the one you don't believe in) that I was never stupid enough to save my teenybopper writings and that I have a [deliberately] bad memory for things I said in my youth. I'll pray for you... that God's Grace allow you to know the Truth one day, before it is too late.

I felt it was a sign that I should finally tell you how cool your site is. Anyways, your music taste, philosophy and writings are incredibly fascinating.
Date: Mon, 29 Apr 2002 13:24:08 -0400 (EDT) b4 i start, i hate being anonymous.. so if you're gonna put me in ur "comments" list.. make sure i'm not one of these unknowns here... =)anyways you've got a cool website.. and you managed to get a deserving half n hour of my valuable time.. but for your essays on thailand is all i finished this while, so i think i'll be revisiting u soon again... its good to find some more self-indulgent ppl right across the globe. [I can put your e-mail address here, but it was sent through my anonymous form. --Ram]

Date: Thu, 18 Apr 2002 12:18:01 -0800 You're an ass of a reviewer. You don't know 2 shits about what good writing is. Dean Koontz is not a horror novelist, he is suspense. Research before you type nonsense about one of the best writers out there, calling him "ok". Grow up in the world a bit fuckhead.
Date: Wed, 10 Apr 2002 19:34:32 +0200 Congratulations on your great site.
Date: Tue, 9 Apr 2002 22:37:15 -0700 (PDT) I like what you have done with you web server. Nice website.

Date: Fri, 5 Apr 2002 15:03:25 -0800 This is one of the most helpful lists of information that I have discovered since moving to Seattle. I especially appreciated the information about theatres. Thank you for taking the time to do this.

Date: Tue, 02 Apr 2002 18:29:40 -0800 Wanted to thank you for your investment in making sound arguments for music distribution in the new marketplace. As a musician and as a photographer/designer for many musician projects, your experience really helps to answer some questions about the idea of FMP.
Date: Sun, 31 Mar 2002 18:10:26 -0800 awesome web site
Date: Sun, 24 Mar 2002 12:45:49 -0500 (EST) Great website!!
Date: Wed, 20 Mar 2002 16:32:25 -0500 (EST) How I came upon your artistic fervour is pure chance. You certainly are a renaissance man. Perhaps the epitome of total intellectual and emotional freedom.
Date: Wed, 20 Mar 2002 12:50:15 -0800 I fully enjoyed your story on travels through India, Tibet, and Thailand. Anyone can say how beautiful the place is, but few say how it affects them and their reactions to it. Your story was Kipling like, in some respects.
Date: Fri, 15 Mar 2002 20:54:59 +0800 Your Monty Hall problem simulation on the web is nice.
Date: Fri, 15 Mar 2002 07:51:12 -0800 (PST) Enjoyed the time is relative ramblings.

Date: Mon, 11 Mar 2002 22:10:03 -0000 Subject: The Solution to the Terrorist Problem I was surfing the web and managed to run across your essay. [...] It's nice to see someone else writing about these sort of things, and I must say I couldn't have worded it better myself.
Date: Mon, 11 Mar 2002 01:15:53 -0800 (PST) I'm truly impressed by your page, but i belive it's a reflection of your saggitarian spirit on the web.
Date: Mon, 04 Mar 2002 21:49:38 +0000 I'm the Vice-Chairman (as in Chairman of Vices...) of the International Students' Society at the University of Ulster at Jordanstown (Northern Ireland). Just thought I'd drop you a note and say thanks for providing a truly excellent movie review page. Every e-mail I send out listing the movies I'm screening for the next month has links to reviews, and your site pops up quite frequently, and has been referred to by quite a few people who like it for its plain style and the fact that it is easily understood by people who's first language is not english. Keep it up, there's at least 98 people who enjoy your site for the reviews alone! =)
Date: Sat, 02 Mar 2002 01:02:59 -0500 looks like you are a pretty smart guy who has dedicated a lot of his work to research. Good job.
Date: Mon, 25 Feb 2002 20:14:15 +0100 thanks for your site; it's hilarious and I'm impressed by your scientific writing
Date: Sun, 24 Feb 2002 22:49:44 +0200 I'd like to congratulate you on your reviews, I look up to a person with a fairly parallel vision of the world.
Date: Sat, 23 Feb 2002 00:01:19 -0500 Congratulations on this beautiful beast you have created...
Date: Tue, 19 Feb 2002 11:25:28 -0500 (EST) Very interesting web site. But it is a bit disturbing how much you have copied the concept and layout from Philip Greenspun. I have been a avid reader of Philip Greenspuns web site (and I love his book), and this web site is 100% like his web site. But I do however think that as you at least could have put a link to his site somewhere, as a token of appreciation. Anyway, I really liked your site, and I suggest to all people that like your site to go see Phil's. http://philip.greenspun.com/ [I am not sure how you think my website resembles Phil Greenspun's (I think they are very different). Besides copying implies my website came after his and that I had knowledge of his website, which would be difficult since my website was among the first 200 or so (with this layout, since 1993)!]
Date: Mon, 18 Feb 2002 15:50:49 -0500 (EST) Wonderful Site!! I never seen anyone like you!! Pi is good Genes, Macromolecules, -&- Computers Strange Loops in Biology is great! Esp. Strange-loops.I like the line "I do believe a collective effort of this type (each person contributing one aspect of the computing model of the cell) will eventually fulfill my dream. I hope I can fulfill part of your dream! Best Wishes For Your Dreams To Come True!! Thanks for your inspiration!!
Date: Tue, 12 Feb 2002 18:40:30 -0700 Well, I read through quite a bit of your website (the philosophical ramblings mostly) and found it to be very intelligent and well-thought out. Your perspectives of the world were a great breath of fresh air for me. Intelligent, reasonable, and unbiased. Anyway, keep up the good work. Keep posting more of your thoughts. I enjoy reading them and, no doubt, so do others.
Date: Tue, 12 Feb 2002 17:02:42 -0000 It is a well designed web page.
Date: Mon, 11 Feb 2002 09:35:42 -0500 very nice web site!
Date: Wed, 06 Feb 2002 00:27:34 -0500 I have to say, outstanding writing and amazing thought process are just of the tip of the ice berg. i really can't say enough. just want to thank you, you've expanded my horizons. your page is hard to navigate and i always get the feeling i'm missing out on certain things becauSe links are scattered inside the works.
Date: Mon, 04 Feb 2002 13:00:50 -0600 As an avid net surfer I believe that you throughly and exquisitely created a remarkable notion that should be the net "wave" of the future.
Date: Sun, 27 Jan 2002 05:05:33 +0000 (GMT) I enjoyed reading through some of the Ram-blings.
Date: Fri, 25 Jan 2002 13:04:11 +0000 Being a fellow Seattle-lite, (I grew up on Orcas Island) I must say I love everything that is on your site even more so because it is from my home town.

Date: Thu, 3 Jan 2002 14:41:12 -0500 I enjoy your candidness on your site.
Date: Tue, 01 Jan 2002 18:52:47 -0700 I just wanted to tell you want a good site you have, and how it has helped me become more defined in just how I evaluate and object to my own beliefs.
Date: Mon, 31 Dec 2001 12:32:21 -0000 I really rate your travelling story - It certainly outshines a lot of the other stuff people write about their experiences while travelling!
Date: Sat, 29 Dec 2001 15:25:01 EST What really impresses me are your intelligence and your approach towards making music with unrestrained freedom and creativity (and supreme wackiness)! Hats off to you for doing just as you please and for encouraging others to do the same. Thanks for the inspiration!

Date: Wed, 12 Dec 2001 00:48:06 -0500 (EST) Nice articles...and nice music taste :)
Date: Sat, 8 Dec 2001 20:32:21 -0800 I am definitely impressed with your explorations throughout your life - and glad to be able to read the same - ... - I don't know how you find time to write all this stuff down - but keep it up - some one's reading.
Date: Sun, 25 Nov 2001 23:43:57 -0500 I found that your works are the best I have ever read. They are invigorating, honest, and make me realize I don't see every facet of a film despite my swollen IQ ego. You make Ciskel and Ebert (and their knockoffs) seem like cheap Port wine at a low-fare cafe. I enjoy your reviews as that they kick cinematic ass where its deserved. I will align myself with site in the future.
Date: Thu, 22 Nov 2001 19:38:21 +0100 Great site!

This site is obviously one of the most content-filled I've ever seen. Sure, the layout is simple, but there's just SO MUCH CONTENT that I can kill a good hour or so a day, and I'm always finding new interesting stuff to look at. And you're constantly adding new stuff. I don't know how long it took you to get to where you are today, but I dream of the day that my pitiful web site has even half the content of yours.

Date: Mon, 28 Aug 2000 15:27:09 -0400 (EDT) Wow, great site. Fun to poke around. You use links well so I can just kinda stumble my way around. I'll read a philosophy article and click on each link, reading the page it links to before going back to finish the article. I'm especially interested in your atheism. Have you read much about buddhism? There are certain writers out there making a good (it seems) case for extra-sensory (and extra-scientific, mostly) existence, like Watts and Chopra. I'm pretty sure I'm an atheist too, but it's cool to think about. Here's a (-nother) question for you: Is it (or was it at first) tough for you to bare your soul through these pages? I find it tough to be totally honest with everyone (my religious parents come to mind.) I think eventually I will have to "come clean" with everybody, but for now, I don't quite have the courage. Anyway, bravo! Great site. [Regarding your second question, I believe in total openness. Secrets can only be used against you. I'm a privacy advocate, but my life is an open book for anyone to read. --Ram]
Date: Fri, 25 Aug 2000 21:18:32 -0400 (EDT) You do not want to interact or exchange-are you so smart that you need no one? Are you so bright that you miss life? cannot you interact with wisdon? I want to interact with you. Is this impossible? Why would you assult me with intellect? have you no soul?: [??? I interact with anyone who wants to interact with me. --Ram]
Date: Wed, 23 Aug 2000 14:53:17 EDT Keep up the good work.
Date: Mon, 21 Aug 2000 15:44:48 +0100 Thanks for the stimulating articles

Date: Sun, 28 Nov 1999 14:45:37 -0500 (EST) I saw your site today for the first time and was quite impressed with the amount of material on it (material that isn't useless). I just wanted to let you know that someone out in cyberland appreciates it. Although I didn't get a chance to read a lot (I'm a student at the University of Guelph and it's cram time), what I did peruse sparked my interest enough to warrant return visits.
Date: Fri, 26 Nov 1999 18:10:43 EST I really liked your review on Toy Story... you're a very good writer.
Date: Sun, 21 Nov 1999 17:39:58 -0600 Cool review, it was straight and to the point. I like the way you stated your opinions on the movie Independence Day with out rating and putting them, all-together, down as some people might. Being a reader, I feel your whole critiqueing was vivid to myself. The comparison of reality in todays human society and the sci-fy alien society in the movie was intriguingly, "funny."

But if he still would be alive and if whe would make our tapes today...? Who knows we would sound like yourre work...? I was born too early... You too soon??? Or at the right time? You are going a long way this way; the path is long, but other will come to meet you and listen to what you are doing?? Everyone should! thanks chris

Date: Sat, 7 Aug 1999 16:16:09 EDT I just think you have the best Primus site other than the one run by Primus and management (Primussucks.com). I visit your site at least twice a week. Keep up the good work. And thank you for putting up the best Primus fan site.
Date: Tue, 20 Jul 1999 04:02:20 -0500 (CDT) thanks for putting things into perspective. the music industry needs a good kick in the pants.
Date: Tue, 6 Jul 1999 14:14:29 EDT Hey, thanks for finally putting out a decent review of "The Stand."
Date: Sun, 4 Jul 1999 01:07:56 -0400 (EDT) I ran across your site by accident, but found myself reading it for about an hour +. I have only a highschool diploma and no "higher" math to speak of. Some of your writings were so over-my-head it's not even funny! But I did the hang-in-there thing and much double and triple reading until I (maybe) got what you were talking about. I just wanted you to know that I have bookmarked your site and plan on a revisit. Also, l will think of you as I am taking aspirin later as I am sure I will have a headache! Entirely too much thinking beyond my scope!

Date: Fri, 21 May 1999 23:08:50 -0400 Well done, and totally agreed with [The Matrix review]. Better than any review newspaper or television review :-)
Date: Tue, 18 May 1999 01:32:29 EDT Hey! I stumbled into your site when I was writing a paper for my World religion class, and I must say, I really enjoyed reading about your outlooks on life. Amazing how much info you have on your page, and I think it's very cool. Well, just wanted to drop a note. Later!
Date: Tue, 4 May 1999 15:53:40 -0400 Your Primus page sucks. I was quite impressed, I was drawn in like any Man Is to a breast.
Date: Thu, 29 Apr 1999 01:50:48 -0700 [...] Anyway, though I have visited your site many a time and devoured a lot of interesting stuff in your 'ramblings' section, it never occurrd to me to write to you. It's 12:40AM right now and I am taking a break from my code, browsing your site. And I do this quite often. Well! the purpose of this mail ! Nothing in particular. I just wanted to show my appreciation for your many talents and to thank you. I mean it because reading through your writings has helped me pass many a depessing situation . Not just as a means of relaxation from the many rigors of research but also to grow as a person. I should say I'm a fan of yours. Right now I am 'following my heart' as you so aptly put it. I don't even expect a reply for this mail. I just could'nt resist myself expressing my deep appreciation for you. Now I feel much better.

Date: Thu, 08 Apr 1999 13:51:31 PDT Subject: The cheesiest page on the web I recently stumbled across your page while looking for a descent Primus domain, and discovered a rambling, obsessed and generally unattractive page maintained by a man who has serious problems. And I loved it!!!! You, without a doubt in my mind, have the biggest, most indepth, and greatest Primus page that I've seen so far. I'm glad people like you exist to inform me of the Primus side projects, tablatures (a BIG help to me, a budding bass guitarist), and so on. I have had the page bookmarked at my school computer because it's the only computer I can use now (the bastards who run this school blocked the Primussucks.com page). Keep up the good work, ya freak.
Date: Sat, 03 Apr 1999 20:09:46 -0800 Ram, I liked your thoughts on the Copyright issue. For a non-lawyer you're quite versed in IP law. Just wanted to say hi.
Date: Fri, 2 Apr 1999 19:16:13 -0500 My name is Jana and I have been sent with this message: All who be dissin, ain't got no reason fer it 'cept self-hate. If you don't like what yer see, then bugger off and keep your poisoned souls to yourselves....you knows where the door is. As for you, Mr S, you just keep inspiring d'ya hear...

Date: Tue, 9 Mar 1999 22:57:43 EST i hope you finally have learned soemthing about music. from this article, you know SHIT about everything you're talking about. You are one of those "mild, i have to fit in with this shitty radio music" listeners. As for what you have said in this article, so fuckin' what!
Subject: future of music link Date: Sat, 6 Mar 1999 14:24:03 -0800 You have done it again, a brilliant Future of Music, thank you!
Date: Sat, 06 Mar 1999 22:55:07 -0500 Subject: Thank you for the Free Music piece on mpeg3.com Thank you so much for your beautiful essay. It really gives a fine framework for something I've felt for many years. John Lennon said "The music belongs to all of us", and my experience through 5 record companies and 20 years in the "business" bears out everything you have said. Keep speaking this truth.
Date: Thu, 4 Mar 1999 20:51:45 -0500 you are a great big queer.....That's what I think. Anyone who would have this gay list is definetely a homo.....Thanks.
Date: Sat, 27 Feb 1999 15:53:15 EST Just a quick word to tell you I really agree with your comments I have just read about Stephen King's mini serie : Storm of the century. I just went browsing on a movie review search engine site to read about this mini serie I watched last week amd I found a link to your review of it which was the most interesting review I have read on this mini serie. Great work !!

Date: Sat, 19 Dec 1998 23:04:43 -0500 I don't exactly remember how I stumbled in your web page (must be when i did a search on Iron Maiden), but your site is incredible. It has to be the very best personal homepage i've come across in all my browsing years. I seem to be interested with every topic that you mention, including stuff on philosophy, music, movies. Well, keep up the good work, man.
Date: Thu, 10 Dec 1998 21:44:36 -0500 Just finished reading your "Doing it Yourself - A Guide to Making Music" web pages and thought I would drop you a quick note to say thanks. Great web site, very informative and helpful. It's bookmarked and I will be back to re-read he entire thing again.

Date: Sat, 19 Sep 1998 03:01:08 -0400 Hi I read your article on Free Music and all I can say is this is EXACTLY how I've felt for the last few years. [...] I play shows because I want to, not because I get paid. I wish everyone out there had your ideas on music.
Date: Wed, 9 Sep 1998 11:48:31 -0700 (PDT) Great page you got there! I really appreciate the thouroughness and clarity, without any of the meatheadedness that is unfortunately becoming more and more commonplace amongst some Primus fans.
Date: Tue, 08 Sep 1998 19:19:13 -0700 I want to be you when I grow up..
Date: Tue, 25 Aug 1998 02:05:44 +1000 Where did you get all the info....well done

Date: Wed, 5 Aug 1998 01:10:57 -0400 Subject: Cool Site! Enjoying your site very much-all the rings stuff etc. Nice bio yo have upi there-very interesting and inventive. Like the BOC stuff, of course-
Date: Sun, 02 Aug 1998 20:55:43 PDT I just wanted to e-mail you to say that I think you definitely have one of the best Primus pages out there
Date: Tue, 21 Jul 1998 13:22:15 -0400 I discovered your site while surfing sites related to Linux. I'm really impressed by your variety of interests. Your outspoken stance on "intellectual property" really interested me, especially because I am involved in a hobby (game console emulation) which is gravely threatened by the expansion of "intellectual property" legislation.
Date: Thu, 16 Jul 1998 19:09:34 -0400 I just thought I'd say real quick, this is the best site on the Net. I've never seen so much cool stuff in one site before.

Date: Wed, 8 Jul 1998 05:24:06 EDT First of all, let me say that I can't thank you enough for having the insight, and taking the time, to build such an informational website! I enjoy songwriting and guitar playing as a hobby, and I am now searching for ways to get the best recordings out of my apartment, without a lot of cash!
Date: Sun, 5 Jul 1998 18:12:38 -0700 (PDT) Thanks very much for an informative WWW site. I have been online for quite some time and yours is easily the most interesting persona I have ever met on the Internet.

Date: Fri, 06 Feb 1998 20:44:12 +0100 i just want to tell you that your website was excellent !
Date: Sun, 1 Feb 1998 14:00:42 EST Subject: children are better than adults you took the words right out my mouth with this rambling. i love your logic and completely agree with you; i've been saying the same thing to people i know for a while (though perhaps less elequently). perhaps the reason no-one's listened to me is that i'm only 15; it's good to know that there's an adult out there with my point of view. --also enjoyed your rambling on where humans come from. i take it you're a scientist... at any rate, you're well-read. keep up the more-coherent-than-you-think ramblings.
Date: Tue, 27 Jan 1998 18:42:23 EST just wanna say thanks for the totally cheesy primus page, it truly rules. after some attempts i have found every answer to your trivia game, it didnt take me long cuz i knew most of them, but some were really hard. anyhow, thanks for the cool site, i dig it so much. anyhow thats it, thanks again, keep it going. spike(mike) primus sucks in chicago
Date: Thu, 8 Jan 1998 22:44:47 EST I know Forrest Gump came out back in 1994, but I was able to retreive your review and found it very helpful in a report I had to do for school. I thought it was well written and informative. Thanks again!
Date: Wed, 31 Dec 1997 03:05:13 EST i have to book mark your page. i started reading too late in the evening. even though i share my living space with a wonderful little puppy, i think you have some very intelligent "ramblings". thank you for sharing some of them with me. i haven't read your thoughts on voting, yet, however; i do not vote. i always love hearing others' opinions on it. have a wonderful new year, whenever that begins for you. kiss the moon every time you get a chance. and, thank you, again.
Date: Sat, 27 Dec 1997 11:21:17 +1100 Just exactly who ordained you to status of pop music "critic" ??? After having reviewed your "reviews" of the Eagles reunion concert,Billy Joel and other icons of american music culture,I 'm convinced that college degees,& fellowships from Stanford,or wherever, do not qualify you to critique!! Having grown up with the music of Buddy Holly,Elvis, the Byrds, C.S.N.&Y., Buffalo Springfield, Poco, the Righteous Bros., & the Eagles, I would consider myself in a position to critique your opinions??? Unless you have been there; done that,& "lived"the culture, it might be wise for you to rethink your status as a"critic"???
Date: Thu, 25 Dec 1997 00:46:34 +1100 Hi I've just been looking at your site and I've been incredibly impressed by the quality of your writing and the variety of music you've reviewed.
Date: Mon, 22 Dec 1997 21:16:10 -0700 He, I stumbled across your page through your Mudhoney/Clawhammer review. It's cool, keep up the good work. you have tons of good info on recording and do it your self stuff for unknown bands.
Date: Fri, 19 Dec 1997 00:25:24 PST I was checking you page out, and it's pretty fucking cool.

Date: Tue, 16 Dec 1997 05:20:52 -0600 Hi, I just read your "Linux DPT Hardware RAID HOWTO". I had to thank you for putting up an excellent and extremely useful document. This is just what I needed. Thanks a million.
Date: Mon, 8 Dec 1997 18:01:51 -0800 (PST) slick page, pro'lly thee most authorative web site on the whole damned web.
Date: Tue, 02 Dec 1997 16:25:47 -0800 Just cruising around your site at work today and it's really great. I like all the live reviews you've got, much better written than most of what passes for online music criticism these wired days.
Date: Sun, 30 Nov 1997 19:47:43 -0500 (EST) Hey hows it going, You have the best PRIMUS page in existance and I'd like to thank you for all of the info on PRIMUS, but especially the info on Dr. Claypool.
Date: Mon, 10 Nov 1997 18:21:39 -0500 (EST) I just wanted to send a quick note of thanks for the article you had posted on the web. I am writing a persuasive speech for a college class at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater on seatbelts, and your experience stood out in all of the articles that I read. I was also involved in an accident a few years back, but i was not wearing my seatbelt, and my face hit the windshield. Luckily, there was no permanent scarring or anything, but thats beyond my point. I just wanted to thank you, and let you know that i am using part of your story as a quote to hopefully save a life someday. :)
Date: Sun, 09 Nov 1997 09:47:47 -0700 your page was awesome. i play drums bass and guitar and this page helped me on getting what primus uses for their kick ass sound. i wish every page on a band was as cool as this one. keep making these kind of pages with primus and bands of all kinds like alternative, heavy metal, and punk. you rock

Date: Sun, 29 Jun 1997 23:10:16 +0200 Hello! I've just read your homepage, and I really enjoyed it. Last year I worked as an au-pair outside of D.C. (Great Falls, VA), so I spent a lot of time in Washington. It was fun to read about all the places I'vve been to. I also loved just sitting on the Mall and look at people, or just stroll around. Hopefully I'll come back to D.C. one day. One thing that I unfortunately didn't do, was visiting the 9:30 club. I heard a lot of people talk about it, but I never got around to go there.
Date: Tue, 24 Jun 1997 15:15:49 -0400 (EDT) Great primus page. I am a huge fan and the polls and stuff you put on there are awesome. I am the one who totally fucked with the 11 best songs and I think that those are the essential Primus if one could only choose 11 songs. I'd like to say what a great job you've done and keep up the good work ya bastard. (I got a 78.7% the first time I took the quiz and I'm going to try it again.
Date: Sat, 14 Jun 1997 18:56:20 -0700 You have accumulated a great site on Primus. I enjoyed the whole thing.
Date: Sat, 14 Jun 1997 03:15:18 -0700 o.k. i've heard about your page for a while and just got to checking it out. it's pretty fucking beautiful. history is great. i've been a long time bay arean and seen all the bands you list several times from 90' on and i was looking at who you listed for caca and i remembered there was a chick singing in caca with really big curly hair and i thought she was from the mighty mighty bosstones, i could be wrong... well i just wanted to say thanks for the cool site. chow christine

Date: Fri, 8 Nov 1996 15:22:24 -0500 I just read your "review" of Alice In Chains. While I realize that this may have been written quite awhile ago and that you may have changed your mind, I cannot help but be amazed at your criticism. Alice In chains is not the shallow band you claim it to be, comparing it to Def Leppard. Their lyrics are legitimate poetry, and are arguably on the same plane with Pearl Jam. [Thank you for making my point: ^^^^^^^^^. --Ram]
Date: Tue, 05 Nov 96 16:57:28 -800 I LOVE THIS PAGE, but 1 thing, I kinda liked FROM DUSK TILL DAWN!!

Date: Mon, 14 Oct 1996 14:27:46 -0400 thank you for your article on fugazi. over time it has become my favorite band as well.at first the music sounds loud and obnoxious, but when you give it a chance and check out the lyrics you realize the overall ingenious of the band. I am writing because I think you left out one of their best albums "steady diet of nothing, including latin roots, nice new outfit, runaway return, and justice brennan. thanks again ANDREE [DITO]

Date: Sat, 09 Dec 1995 19:55:52 EST Hi there. You have no clue who I am, but I have gone to your Primus page thousands of times and I just wanted to thank you for keeping such an up to date Primus page. It's got all the info any fan could want. Thats pretty much all I had to say.

Date: Mon, 27 Nov 95 13:29:28 -0600 this is totally unrelated, but I commend you on the hard work, creativity, and thoughtfullness of your primus page. I am a major primus fan just like many of the other bastards on this newgroup and there is no partiality in the fact that I think your page is the best I've seen anywhere regardless of me being a fan or not. Keep it up
Date: Fri, 24 Nov 1995 20:22:03 -0500 I would just like to say you are doing one hell of a job with that Primus page. I saw that it was only one of a few bands you were really in to, but it is still the coolest thing on the Web. I saw that you played the gutair (I play the drums, but I'm getting a gutair next week.) I ya, I'm 14, I'm kind of a computer nerd, but what the hell, you only live once. I live in Vermont. It sucks. I live in the smallest town in the United States. My musical ability is my only chance of getting the hell out of here for good. Well, I guess that is not true, I got decent grades. Sorry for chewing your ear off man, I was just bored and came across your page. Don't feel like you have to write back. I wouldn't if I were you.
Date: Wed, 15 Nov 1995 18:55:04 -0500 Hey, you are all right! I am just out surfing on the net for the first time and I don't have an account set up yet. I hope to run into more pages like yours.

Date: Tue, 14 Nov 95 00:29:21 -0100 Making this homepage was a really good thing! You should be proud of yourself..... PRIMUS SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Date: Thu, 9 Nov 1995 19:51:52 -0500 I would just like to say the Primus page fuckin rules! I got so wraped up into it I have not yet had time to look at the rest of your site, but I will.

It was educational as well as entertaining. I plan to include the information I gathered on apolipoprotein E in my essay exam tomorrow. Thank you again!
Date: Wed, 11 Oct 95 14:41:41 -0700 The Pink Floyd review was excellent. I think you need a bit more Jethro Tull. The Roots to Branches Album just out might suit.
Date: Tue, 10 Oct 95 10:36:52 0100 Hi! While surfing the net, I found your Primus-homepage, and found out that it realy SUCKS!!!
Date: Mon, 9 Oct 1995 16:37:30 Ram, this is a great set of pages dedicated to Primus, the olny band that Sucks
Date: Thu, 5 Oct 1995 16:51:16 My name is Kevin Fridley. I have no address but I use my college's computer system. I hope your PRIMUS page consists of SOUTH BOUND PACHADERMS. You can send info to P.O.box 84 Churchville Va 24421. You should also include some information about "Herb" on your page. Since he is one of the most innovative drummers of this time (Mike Portnoy, Dave Weckyl, Terry Bozzio, Sean Reinert, and Simon Phillops including) drummers , like myself, on the net would like to hear more about him. I will occasionally check back here to see if you actually recieved this message. Oh yeah, PRIMUS SUCKS!!!!!

Date: Fri, 8 Sep 1995 14:14:32 Just a quickie ... The line in the Aging Musician should be "Just a corpse beside a *note that read*" Also I wonder how many other biochemists (besides you & I) dig the Rez ??? In particular, since I'm studying sperm whale myoglobin mutants, the connection is even more uncanny !! I have all the lyrics (in meticulous scientists' detail) as well as much more, including a complete set of their Arty-Facts and a lot of music that doesn't exist. I am their self-proclaimed most obsessed fan and I'd like to correspond with you about 'em iff you want. I put the book "Uncle Willie's Highly Opinionated Guide to the Residents" together in terms of organization and accounting of the collectible stuff. (Page 4 ... Kim Andrews from Houston Texas). Anywho, e-mail me at "kimba@rice.edu", my webstuff was recently moved to U of H, and isn't ready yet ?%( Not that it would compare to *yours* ) This homepage is REALLY nice ... You've done a bang-up job and deserve your Top 5 Rating !!!
Date: Thu, 7 Sep 1995 18:45:16 pretty impressive homepage! Bravo
Date: Wed, 06 Sep 1995 22:19:11 EDT Howdy Ram. You've got a damn good thing goin' here with the Cheesy Home Page.I read your concert review and thought it was excellent. Keep up the Home Page, I enjoy it very much.
Date: Sun, 03 Sep 95 12:40:53 -0700 I gotta say, this is a very good site for primus-fans, lots of cool info, interviews etc...
Date: Wed, 23 Aug 1995 21:23:14 I love your pages! I thought I lost access to them for the last couple days, but I'm back. Thanks a bunch. Your pages are always my first stop when I sign on. Keep it up.
Date: Wed, 02 Aug 95 08:27:08 -700 Your painting War and Peace was very powerful. May i leave a comment that while i appreciate the sentiments, if women will continue to reward the warlike men, war will continue. Its a double whammy i am afraid. Remember Lysistrata. Much love and hope for a more peaceful world for women and men. Not to mention the children. Liked the rest of your home page too.
Hi there! Nice Primus page you've got here. Very well constructed. Just wanted to add a bit of info in case you haven't been informed as of yet.. August 12, 1995, Primus will be playing with Helmet as the opening band at the West Palm Beach Auditorium, in West Palm Beach, Florida.

Date: Sun, 2 Jul 95 22:32:28 Dear Ram, i'd just like to say that this page was excellent work! I"ve always seen myself as the biggest Primus Fan around here because I was the only one who listened to them around this area. I've loved primus for the past... 3 years now. I'm a big fan, and also a Bassist and Fisherwoman..... I"m proud of it too! That's why I love Primus so much. It's just nice to know that I"m Not the only one out here in this crazy world! Date: Mon, 26 Jun 95 10:12:59 hello, since you're maintaining the primus homepage, i was wondering if you know where i can find concert dates (does the primus management have an e-mail adress?) because every time they're in holland i miss their concert and some 'friend' tells me that it had been woderfull. so, basically my question is: do you know where i can find primus touring info. p.s. great primus homepage!!

Date: Wed, 21 Jun 95 18:46:47 Great tab page. But what about Mr.Knowitall tab? Also, another page with tab on other great bassists such as John Pattituci, or Flea. Maybe even a few stuff on Paul McCartney. Keep up the good work, allstun [The reason I maintain the tab page is because I like Primus---I'm not even a bassist! --Ram]

Date: Mon, 5 Jun 95 15:47:34 GMT Congratulations! This was a brilliant homepage! I just happened to notice your Purple-interest, and thought that I should make sure that you knew about their HP: http://www.tecc.co.uk/public/purple/Purple.html, (which you probably did!). I was searching for agricultural stuff on the net (I study at the Agricultural University In Norway), when I found your HP, and it really made a break from lots of the other bio-related pages!!! Keep up the good work:)

Date: Thu, 25 May 95 15:52:15 GMT Pretty good page.
Date: Wed, 24 May 95 19:30:16 GMT I don't get you. You. It is people like you who are built to confuse. I happened upon your "home page" and read your review of lolla 94...you calim to love music, yet P. Funk "doesn't do anything for you"? What's with you? You think the Melvins suck?? Jesus Christ, listen closely to these bands cos they'll change yer life, give em a chance...dissing moshing, god man, free your mind! You putting down this Gen X is a bit too ironic too handle, you are the epitome of that disgusting stereotype - OPEN YOUR EYES [No, George Clinton does nothing for me at all. Not to say he is bad. Compared to Primus, Melvins did suck. I actually have listened to a lot of the Melvins and I like some of their stuff, but live they did suck. I think it is YOU that needs to open your eyes. There's nothing wrong with a negative opinion. Moshing if for the dweebs. And I think people who consider themselves part of "Generation X" are losers. Happy? (: --Ram]
Date: Sat, 13 May 95 14:45:08 GMT The Omnidirectional Bhadra is using this page as we speak, he is also a pseudo-intellectual and amongst other things gives his respect to PRIMUS.
Date: Fri, 12 May 95 07:37:12 GMT I've seen the primus page :very nice ! I've seen a primus concert in Bologna, Italy 2 years ago expecially les cleypol bass Ohhhhhhhhh!

Date: Sun, 7 May 95 19:55:20 GMT I was just checking out your concert reviews. Good stuff. I highly recommend you check out Faith No More when they hit your town on the King For A Day tour.. It was, by far, the best show I've been to. Later.
Date: Thu, 4 May 95 20:24:54 GMT I didnt really mean to get here, but since i'm here i'll leave you a message your page is pretty cool.
Date: Tue, 2 May 95 16:36:20 GMT GREAT JOB WITH THE PRIMUS HOME PAGE, COULD INCLUDE ANY CONCERT INFORMATION IN YOUR NEXT UPDATE....THANKS, AND AGAIN, GREAT JOB WITH THE HOME PAGE
Date: Mon, 1 May 95 21:23:20 GMT Love the Primus page!! I've been a huge fan for a while, in fact, Les is why I picked up my first Bass a year ago. Thanks for the tab, info, and everything else! good stuff!
Date: Fri, 28 Apr 95 23:56:04 GMT Nice page!
Date: Thu, 27 Apr 95 22:45:22 GMT ram, nice dp concert review! I had sent you some e-mail about coverdale awhile ago.
Date: Thu, 20 Apr 95 20:30:14 -2400 Hi there... The Primus page is awesome, except for one thing: there are no Sausage lyrics. Where would I be able to find them?
Date: Wed, 19 Apr 95 12:29:56 GMT This page is COOL ....
Date: Tue, 11 Apr 95 21:29:06 GMT RAM! Love your Primus/Sausage homepages. I'm a huge fan of both. I was wondering if you knew of a place where I could download tab. for Riddles are abound... Yours are, unfortunately, unclear to me. Do you know of any other sites, publications etc.... Or if you could make the existing tab for this song more clear for me... Could poss. exchange live DAT masters of both bands for this service. I have several. THanks and keep it up (you suck!)
Date: Tue, 11 Apr 95 20:46:24 GMT You ROCK! but you need to do a interview with Billie Joe! becauseI LOVE BILLIE JOE! and he ROCKS!
Date: Tue, 11 Apr 95 05:28:41 GMT Ram, as amazing as i do, indeed, think your server is, your pseudo-intellectual ramblings are in desperate need of some added female influence....especially the section on on sex and the section on life vs. choice...oh, and where is the review on Heathers???
Date: Mon, 10 Apr 95 19:25:50 GMT Hey, hey. Bob Cock here. Just want to say that what you're doing is awesome. PRIMUS IS THE BEST BAND EVER!!!!!! I was going to start a home page here on Primus, but I see someone got here before me! Anyway, keep up the good work. One suggestion Add a public messageing system so us bastardos can keep talking about Primus!!! Fish on! [Thanks! I did newgroup alt.music.primus a few months ago. --Ram]
Date: Wed, 29 Mar 95 00:11:21 GMT Hey, I was wondering how involved it is to start up your own homepage. I think it's pretty cool how you can express yourself and your interests in this way. If it isn't too hard to explain, could you send me some directions. Hope you keep adding to your own page, I'm interested in seeing what else pops up. Thanks!!
Date: Wed, 1 Mar 95 03:52:27 GMT Nice Page, just cruzing by,
Date: 27 Mar 1995 12:11:44 +0100 (BST) Yeah, I do like your Primus pages, it's odd to find a Guitarist who likes Primus, though, although Ler is brill, but the only other person I know who likes Primus is also a bassist. I like the tab stuff, although all the hard parts are left out! (wonder why?!)
Date: Tue, 28 Feb 95 17:17:12 GMT your page is quite neat. it just needs to have audio of john the fisherman.
Date: Thu, 23 Feb 95 22:45:55 -800 Dear Ram, I think you are the best resource to any Primus fan on the Net. As a fellow fisherman, I worship you bro for putting together such a fresh page. Good Job!!!!!
Date: Wed, 22 Feb 95 05:14:20 GMT You SUCK [Thank you! --Ram]
Date: Fri, 17 Feb 95 04:21:05 GMT First off, I must commend you on the compilation of the Primus discogrophy. Not even the mighty Metallica have a page like this! Had a question about locating the "freakout" boot, the "shrimp cocktail" demo and things "from the corn". Can you help me out?
Date: Mon, 13 Feb 95 16:14:06 GMT cool primus page doc. but i still like yor page better. :) reen
Date: Thu, 9 Feb 95 18:38:32 GMT Enjoyable musings on the BOyCult :-)
Date: Tue, 7 Feb 95 18:01:39 GMT Kyuss Rocks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Date: Wed, 1 Feb 95 17:12:18 GMT Very good review of Ween, what was the date of that concert? Its a shame that I visit that area often and now am in Pittsburgh where I can only pray for Ween to play soon.
Date: Fri, 27 Jan 95 02:26:09 GMT Way to go! CARB onwards!
Date: Thu, 26 Jan 95 22:22:18 GMT Dear Les Claypool I think you the greatest bass Player & one day I hope to following the foot steps of the great funk man
Date: Mon, 23 Jan 95 23:26:37 GMT PRIMUS SUCKS! jpburton@netspace.net.au
Date: Sun, 22 Jan 95 16:19:01 GMT Ram, Ethan Hawke (not Brad Pitt) played Troy in "Reality Bites". Did you really see the movie?
Date: Sun, 22 Jan 95 15:14:03 GMT Yo Mr. Ram man-- Who do you think you are putting down my favorite movie of all time, Shadowlands?!! It has much more depth than you have perceived it to be and I can't believe you laughed at the saddest part of the movie. What insensitivity. Anyway- Why am I wasting my time writing to an insensitive fool like you?!! [I have never claimed to be sensitive. --Ram]
Date: Thu, 19 Jan 95 05:38:16 GMT Hey, Just dropping in from Iceland for a quick visit. Brilliant home page, how do you find the time? If you still have any spare time left, would you consider some freelance HTML and design work? I live in D.C. but work for an Icelandic I-net provider that's looking for HTML types. Don't know if thats your type, but drop me a line if you're interested.
Date: Wed, 18 Jan 95 13:03:04 GMT Primus sucks they said it them selves. Check out Messuggha gdvle sweden. Check your head!!!!! Shitty tattoo to many coulors i suggest you buy some tattoo stickers and glue them on!!!
Date: Tue, 17 Jan 95 19:58:37 GMT YOU HAVE DONE SOME VERY FINE WORK HERE. YOUR MOTHER MUST BE PROUD AND SO AM I!!! WHY LET MACHINES RIP YOUR CLOTHES, LET ME DO IT FOR YOU CAREFULLY BY HAND!!!
Date: Tue, 17 Jan 95 15:58:43 GMT Wow... you're new page (about your music) is very nice. You must have been putting in a lot of hours on recording, etc. lately. Too bad my damn Sparc 5 station can't seem to do the "audio thing..."
Date: Thu, 12 Jan 95 18:23:58 GMT Cool ! , Great Job, liked the WooDStock Stuff,
Date: Wed, 11 Jan 95 15:30:25 GMT So Ram I really like your page. It has intrigued me. And as you seem like a man with very diverse interests, I was wondering if you could help me out. I'm going to George Mason in Fairfax at the moment and I was wondering if you had any suggestions for something different to do. I mean, I always manage to entertain myself, but I'm sick of doing the same things. Is there anything that is just good clean fun in DC, but kind of off of the beaten track? I know this must sound like a very strange request, but why miss an opportunity just because it sounds odd. If you wish to get some response on some of your writing, let me know. I am a far cry from scientific, but you raised a lot of really wild ideas.
Date: Thu, 12 Jan 95 01:53:42 GMT hi ram, great stuff. thanks. I kinda do thee same music stuff like you- proteus, Juno 106, IBM sequencer, busted 4-track, crappy guitars. would love to set up long distance jam a la Primus. what say you we take over the world? reply, dude. don [I'd love to, but you didn't leave your e-mail address though! I hope you do read this and get back to me though. --Ram]
Date: Tue, 10 Jan 95 19:25:36 GMT hey dude-- cool page. much better than may of the others i have seen. You must be cool to have such a cool home page. All my friends think you are cool. Anyway, hope you had a nice time in NY. We love you. reenie :)
Date: Tue, 10 Jan 95 02:26:46 GMT dear rambo- i read your review on the eagles and i thought it ..well...how should i say it....hmmm...i think "SUCKED HARD" would be an understatement. know your music before you start dishing out verbal lasmbastments that you have no right putting out...true its your opinion but here's mine..i think your's sucked. the concert was awesome....it wasn't totally "tight" as you put it but it was still awesome...and damn it i didnt even grow up w/ them. they just rocked
Date: Tue, 10 Jan 95 02:01:32 GMT PRIMUS SUCKS!!! :-) kick ass page dude
Date: Sat, 7 Jan 95 02:10:18 GMT Hi! Your page is very nice (how often have you read that by now?) Especially the PRIMUS part. I just went through your cd-collection. You should listen to the Dutch band The Gathering (try their album `Always...'). I'm not sure if it's available in the U.S. (I found it somewhere on net in the states), but you'll love it. Some other suggestions: curve - `radio sessions' -- much better than `public fruit' -- this one is a kind of `live' annihilator - alice in hell -- MUCH better than `set the on fire'
Date: Tue, 3 Jan 95 22:10:41 GMT Great page!!
Date: Mon, 26 Dec 94 22:04:48 GMT My name is Thomas...big LIVE fan, found your page on a Web Crawler search of "Mental Jewelry" (found 3 matches, very interesting). Noticed you were big in Biotechnology, thought you might want to talk to a friend of mine. He's doing brain imaging by throwing electric current accross slices of brain tissue and looking at the colors that it produces. Anyway, Just thot I'd drop you this note to express my appreciation for your great page.
Date: Sun, 25 Dec 94 23:46:48 GMT You seem to have a lot of time on your hands! Lovin the net... well, the web. Enjoy. [Or you could say I waste a lot of time! --Ram]
Date: Fri, 23 Dec 94 10:17:41 GMT Hey Ram, I enjoyed your home page and the collection of modeling tools you have amassed. I was wondering, how did you find out about the protein folding competition? I have heard that there will be another one, but have no solid source of info. So, if you know, Reverend, please sanctify me with thy knowledge! :) Thanks! Simon [Since you don't leave your address, I can't answer you directly. But I "found out" about the protein folding competition because it was us (primarily my mentor John Moult) who organised it. There will be another one in a couple of years. --Ram]
Date: Mon, 19 Dec 94 19:48:54 GMT Thanks for the cool stuff on primus...I really enjoyed it. Keep up the information if possible... [I shall do my best to! --Ram]
Date: Mon, 12 Dec 94 12:51:17 GMT Hi, who are you? [A moron who has let the w^3 go to his head? ---Ram]
Date: Fri, 9 Dec 94 05:20:48 GMT Ram, i couldn't get on the spacemen 3 home page, so i stumbled upon the PRIMUS page and wound up here. cool stuff to absorb here. would probably have enjoyed it more if i didn't fry my eyes on this computer for 5 hours. i'll definetely have to chck your page again. have to find the picture of the women that a couple of other people mentioned they saw and want their address a few tidbits for you: 1. buy a spacemen 3 c.d. to add to your collection. 2. question: why aren't there 'B' batteries? 3. rent the film 'SLACKER' sometime. 4. keep on keeping on!!!!!!!! [1. I'll keep it in mind. 2. I believe the 'A' could stand for 'alkaline'. Thus it would make no-sense to have 'B' batteries. 3. Why? 4. Will do; thanks for writing! --Ram]
Date: Sat, 26 Nov 94 01:15:29 GMT The Clapton album is called "From the Cradle", I believe that the tour has the same name, not "_IN_ the Cradle" Also, it was no secret that the show would be "an evening of nothing but the blues", and anyone who went home dissapointed did not understand the concept behind the album and tour. [I've referred to the album as "From the Cradle" in my review. I happen to refer to my review itself as "In the Cradle with..." I wasn't referring to the tour name when I say this, but that this is the title of the review. You could understand the concept behind the album and the tour and still be disappointed that Clapton didn't perform Layla. I do not see your logic. --Ram]
Ram, so that is your real name! you didn't give me the addresses of those two chicks I saw in your homepage. I asked you for their addresses before and you didn't include them in the comment that you wrote back to my original comment. Plus your tone in your comment back was a bit harsh...what's wrong? did I offend? I'm sorry if I did...but those two were really something. Make sure you include their addresses this time. later bud, chris [You do not offend me---I find it amusing, but it is not for me to decide whether you get their addresses or not. If you give me your e-mail address, I'll be sure to pass it on to them. And besides, their addresses are there on my page some place. --Ram]
Date: Mon Nov 21 12:42:24 EST 1994 Whoa - stop right there! Proteins "most important molecules.."? Surely a matter for some debate! [Definitely! But proteins are the level at which natural selection occurs---I am not discounting the importance of nucleic acids, but in terms of function... --Ram]
Date: Fri, 18 Nov 94 01:30:05 GMT "Programming is better than sex?" I don't think so - maybe you're not doing sex right. There is, after all, more than one way to fold a protein. You biotechnologists - you're all the same. Cute photo, though.
Date: Thu, 17 Nov 94 20:54:52 GMT Sorry, I really don't know my own address. Liked the pix- got my own tattoo, black Pearl drum set, dozen-plus Jap bikes, and 40-someodd guns- (good gun control editorial, thanks). Hope to browse this way again......signed, DECREMENT
Date: Thu, 17 Nov 94 19:48:32 GMT Hey my name is Jason Ramirez and I love this page I play the guitar and drums.
Date: Wed, 16 Nov 94 05:00:14 GMT it's pretty cool, man...cool Primus/Sausage page
Date: Tue, 15 Nov 1994 22:03:58 -0500 (EST) I enjoy your work, especially the Primus homepage. Keep going!
Date: Sun, 13 Nov 94 16:29:42 PST Thanks!! Your review of Woodstock is awesome, by the way! I was there, and you were able to capture in words and pictures the essence of the event. Anyone who wasn't there just wouldn't get it. The first two days were as awesome as the third, BTW.
Date: Sun, 13 Nov 94 19:49:35 GMT I found you linker page on a link to what was supposed to be (I assume your) Church of the Almighty Revealed through Biotechnology page. I thought you might want to know.
Date: Sun, 13 Nov 94 02:32:57 GMT Great Page, I love it..
Date: Sat, 12 Nov 94 22:28:27 GMT Dear Ram--Is that your real name?? anyway, those really cool girls in a few of your pictures...can i get their addresses? i live in ny so it would be easy for me to meet them if they were interested. and hey men, if they are willing to hang out with you i think they would jump at the chance to hang with me. just to specify, i mean the one's in the usa today thing. man, they are hot. where did you hook up with them?? thanks dude. stare the wealth. --chris
Date: Fri, 4 Nov 94 16:03:29 GMT Found your page while searching with web-crawler for 'primal scream'. Stunned by the fact that you've got so many titles that I have in my own collection. But since you are a big Blackmore fan, as I'm, how come I couldn't find Rainbow in your list? Do you update the list when you buy CDs, or monthly etc.? In my collection I've got about 320 CDs. About Dio-Strange highways : I really like most of Dio's records, but this one sucks!! Even though I bought it very cheap, I regret buying this one!! Favourites at the moment: Deep Purple (No need to argue), Cranberries(title in last() ) Suede, Oasis, Radiohead and of course Tomas DiLeva (The spaceflower guy: learn some swedish to listen and enjoy this odd fellow, there's a lot of wisdom in his songs).
Date: Fri, 4 Nov 94 07:21:47 GMT howdy - primus sucks
Date: Thu, 3 Nov 94 19:33:53 GMT I have enjoyed your page and would like to discuss some details.
Date: Wed, 2 Nov 94 18:28:10 GMT 7113 LAKE BASIN RD. TALLAHASSEE, FL, 32312 BRAD MESSER I LOVE YOURTOPLESS GIRL, PLEASE PUT MORE IN YOUR PAGES. [Someone from m12.deerlake.leon.k12.fl.us, though I think the all-caps speaks for itself, but I would like to add that the most accessed picture in my Woodstock '94 page is the topless girl's gif; fortunately I took it so it would preserve some anonymity. --Ram]
Date: Tue, 1 Nov 94 20:59:08 GMT This is the best yet! call me I'm in rockville
Date: Tue, 1 Nov 94 19:14:51 GMT Well... Disappear Fear, Nietzsche, Primus, Gene Therapy (ethics, etc.) and so on all on the same page. Apparently you are my dream man... enough said.
Date: Fri, 28 Oct 94 06:22:47 GMT I discovered your homepage through a link you made in the Well's Woodstock page. I was at Woodstock '94 and I'm really impressed with the massive review you did. You captured the cooperative and friendly atmosphere really well- the people's attitude was completely unlike any other concert I've been to. Did I miss the comments on the tents and sleeping? Jeez, I'm still screwed up.
Date: Sat, 22 Oct 94 06:16:20 GMT Hello there Ramus... I am finally connected on WWW... i like your home page a great deal It was a nice surprise to see the pi imagery that we worked on at OWU. How have you been lately? Busy I'm sure. I have taken on a second job doing typesetting at Kinko's. I am in the process of designing a web page for my other job at the Exchange newspaper. I will let you know when you can go take a look at it. Can you give me any hints on creating a page? What program are you using to design those small blue buttons? Anyway, guess i'll hear back from you shortly! your friend bradus schwartzicus... [The blue buttons are rip-offs from Adam Curry's site, and the best hint that I can give in order for you to design your Web pages is to use the "view source" command! --Ram]
Date: Sat, 22 Oct 94 05:34:42 GMT Ok, so by putting my e-mail address here, what does that do for me and you? Do I get anything out of it. What do you get out of it? Just thought i'd ask to find out what becomes of this information. [Nothing! --Ram]
Date: Thu, 20 Oct 94 18:59:58 GMT I am really impressed and pleased with your Primus homepage. I accidentally stumbled upon it while listening to Frizzle Fry, which was the first time I've listened to any Primus in months. What a coincedence!
Date: Thu, 20 Oct 94 08:33:47 GMT I think in your Primus album list your are forgetting Cheesy EP 1 and 2 Anyways, I think Primus is the best thing since sliced bread. Have you seen their 'Cheesy Home Video' .. It rules, me thinks! And also, there's a typo in your often quoted lyric (you'll figure out which line): 'Some trendy new atrocity /has brought/ you to your knees' Just liked to point it out! Keep up the cheese thing, [The EPs are listed in the Discography and the lyrics has a mistake on purpose for formatting reasons (bad excuse, but consider it some sort of a poetic license). --Ram]
Date: Mon, 17 Oct 94 17:42:14 GMT just was cruisin through..........(texas a&m university architecture/electronic design studio)
Date: Thu, 6 Oct 94 15:50:56 GMT Hey hey hey, that's a nice Primus Page you're keeping! Do you by any chance know if Primus will come to Europe any time?
Date: Wed, 5 Oct 94 16:18:30 GMT This finger link is pretty cool, I'm in the process of making my homepage, but can't figure out how to set that up. Would you mind e-mailing me how to do it? [Do a view source, and take a look at cgi-bin/finger. --Ram]
Date: Tue, 4 Oct 94 23:06:35 GMT hey, great home page. you should post the directions for becomming a universal life minister. [They are present already. --Ram]
Date: Thu, 29 Sep 94 21:30:24 GMT okay..under Woodstock miscellaneous, first paragraph, last line, there's a grammar mistake. Should be "could be heard" not "could heard." you got that? :) -- Lynn just thought I'd share. :) [It is not a grammar mistake. It is a typo. A grammar mistake indicates that I am ignorant. A typo indicates that I am not perfect/absent-minded. I prefer the latter. But thanks anyways! --Ram]
Date: Thu, 22 Sep 94 01:13:35 GMT Hello Eric how are you this is very nice...
Date: Sat, 3 Sep 94 22:33:51 EDT You are quite an artist! I like the Pi Ala Mode!
Date: Fri, 2 Sep 1994 18:29:22 -36803936 (GMT-0700) Hi! I saw your home page on www. It is simply great! It certainly is different from any of the ones I have seen! ( I do web surfing for a living! Jus'kidding..)
Date: Tue, 23 Aug 1994 23:46:06 (EDT) I found your woodstock page to be extremely well done and I'm thinking that it's gonna be real helpful in culling images and additional text for upcoming versions. (I'm also assuming that your page will stay for a very, very long time...as it should.)
Date: Tue, 23 Aug 94 23:50:08 GMT Ram, Great home page! I really like your woodstock review. I was there selling t-shirts at the south stage. I couldn't see or hear much of the concert, so your recap really helped fill me in. Keep up the great work,
Date: Tue, 23 Aug 94 09:19:04 GMT Yeap! I've been using your home page. I'm Hannes Floeckner and working in Salzburg in the group of Manfred Sippl together with Michael Braxenthaler who told me that I've to read this. He said it would be worth it and it's true. Congratulations for the excellent Woodstock report you did.
Date: Mon, 22 Aug 1994 14:11:49 -0800 (PDT) Hey, your woodstock page is really cool! I noticed one error though: Shannon Hoon (not Hood!) is Blind Melons lead singer. [Noted, and corrected. Thanks! --Ram]
Date: Mon, 22 Aug 94 18:27:59 GMT Hi Ram, I really liked your Woodstock page! I was at woodstock 94 too, and I loved every minute of it!
Date: Sat, 20 Aug 94 22:20:01 GMT Well I'm impressed with the information on Primus, and other bands. I was shocked to read one of the reviews on laloopalooza I really like Smashing Pumpkins and their lyrics(at leasts the one that I can understand), but if the lead singer went off... I'm not sure what to say. I just won tickets on our local radio station for laloopalooza for Sept 4 at Calstate Domigas Hills. It's been sold out already so I'm lucky. Hopefully this event will compare to what I've read in your reviews. Well that's a little spew on behalf- take it easy.
Date: Fri, 19 Aug 1994 11:59:47 -0700 (PDT) GReat home page... I'll add a link in the Virtual Newsroom soon.. I'm hoping VNR will become agathering place for personal publishers. I also want to begin contextual linking of our news reports to pages like yours. Your Woodstock page is great... Scott Rosenberg (Digital Culture on Electric Ex and reviews films for the daily) sat and read it together yesterday. You capture the spirit, the feeling in a way dry old AP will never manage. Kudos! Pray that many follow your path... Please link to us (http://sfgate.com/examiner) if you're so inclined, and continue to flag us when you have new stuff...
Date: Thu, 18 Aug 1994 18:09:28 -0700 From: M Normal Hi Ram, My name is M and I just saw your cool web page on woodstock. Nice! I was there too and I think you really captured the feeling. I work here at the WELL and we had a tent in the surreal field where you could send email, go on IRC, surf the web and participate in a woodstock conference on the WELL [and all for free, might I add!] d;) Oh yes, we also made a digital scrapbook - we took people's pictures, the sounds of their voices, and texts they typed, and put them together as a page in our scrapbook. If you want to check it out the URL is http://www.well.com/woodstock Anyway, I really enjoyed your page, thanks!
Date: Tue, 16 Aug 94 16:46:55 GMT Nifty. I was browsing your CD collection and I have a recomendation: Walt Mink (They have two records on Caroline, they're on Columbia now, but haven't released anything yet.) Hmmm... It just occured to me you might want more information. So, Walt Mink is a trio who attended MacAlester College in St. Paul, MN. They graduated, tried the real world, and decided to try the rock and roll thing again. The name, Walt Mink, is "borowed" from a professor at MacAlster. The sound Unbelievable. Poppy, with tight, interesting drumming, and a guitar style unlike any other. It's not so much that he does wiered things, it's that he plays standerd stuff in wiered arangements. So as a guitar player, I think you'd especially like Walt Mink.
Date: Wed, 3 Aug 94 18:13:44 GMT just checking it out. Thanks, looks cool. Nice Nietzsche quote.
Date: Fri, 29 Jul 94 20:08:19 GMT Ram-This page is a total waste of your time. Why don`t you do something more productive with your life.-Tom [According to the logs, you didn't even bother exploring my homepage before you made this comment. Why do you think it is a waste of my time, and do you really not think that working on the protein folding problem is productive? --Ram]
Date: Mon, 25 Jul 94 08:18:47 GMT Hello , I visited your primus page and ended up here. Pretty cool. Primus is one of my favourite bands but not very well known in Tasmania. I read that you liked metal. I was wondering if you knew of any Pantera or Black Sabbath pages. I play guitar as well. My tastes range from Jimi hendrix, to the Beatles to Tool and Early Black Sabbath. Fair mix. I am into modern stuff at the moment. Anyway, keep on picking those strings.
Date: Thu, 21 Jul 94 17:18:53 GMT Hi, Ram. We are going to be very good friends, I can sense it. Your materials are being forwarded to the reast of the Group for further review. We are the ones who posted the Intellectual Warfare document - looking for people like you! PLEASE, if you need help getting PGP, give me a buzz. P.S. Cool card! (DHS)
Date: Wed, 20 Jul 94 20:30:32 GMT Stick to computing, your writing ability leaves MUCH to be desired. Your concert review of Primus and the Melvins sounds like a third grader wrote it. By the way, the Melvins have more talent than you will ever have so don't knock them. [(i) I agree the concert review of Primus is, as you say, "third grade"---it was an e-mail message I wrote to this list and wasn't a "review", per se. Still, there is nothing wrong with writing like a third grader once in a while. (ii) If you really wish to judge my writing skills, read some of pseudo-intellectual ramblings, or the July 9 review of the Pink Floyd concert. (iii) The Melvins sucked live and they were untalented. That's my opinion. Even if they did have more talent than I do (which I doubt), that doesn't mean I shouldn't criticise them. --Ram]
Date: Mon, 18 Jul 94 23:33:25 GMT Hello. I'm obviously lost and I was hoping you could point me in the right direction. So I'm sittin' around in the Primus Homepage when I saw the words "Psychadelic Homepage" but when I clicked on it to link me up I was sent here. This is obviously not it. If it is then then I must have missed the Magic Bus because I'm pretty sure this "Page" has nothing to do with the word 'Psychadelic'. If this is in fact the Phsycadelic Homepage then it must be broken or you don't Know of what you speak. Please remedy the problem The Great Gob [The use of the word "psychedelic" to refer to my home page is purely based on traditional reasons. While I grant that my home page is not psychedelic in terms of appearance, some of what is in there could be construed as being created under the influence of psychedelics (including some of Primus' trippy tunes). --Ram]
